RICHMOND
Bev’s Homemade Ice Cream – A Carytown staple since 1998, known for flavors like Espresso Oreo and homemade hot fudge. It offers a rotating selection of special flavors, including sorbets and sherbets​​. 

Charm School Study Hall – Located in Forest Hill, this shop features unique flavors and vegan-friendly options. The dairy comes from local Virginia farms, and many toppings are made in-house.

Gelati Celesti – Known for its creamy ice cream and wide variety of flavors, Gelati Celesti has multiple locations in Richmond and features 24 house favorites and 85 rotating flavors​​.

Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets – Opened in 2020, Ruby Scoops offers a creative mix of flavors like Roasted Pineapple Rosemary and Guava Daiquiri, with options for vegans and those looking for gluten-free treats​.

 

 

 

 

WILLIAMSBURG
Shorty’s Diner – Known for its classic American diner atmosphere and delicious ice cream options, including rich milkshakes and sundaes.

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream – Offers a wide range of flavors and generous portions. It’s a popular spot for families and ice cream lovers.

Kilwins – Located in Merchant’s Square in Colonial Williamsburg, this shop offers a variety of gourmet ice cream flavors, fudge, and other sweet treats.

 

 

 

NORTHERN NECK- Irvington, Kilmarnock, White Stone, Reedville

Old Farm Truck– In the heart of White Stone you can grab a delicious Nightengale Ice Cream Sandwich made with 14% butterfat ice cream and freshly baked cookies. Unique and sophisticated flavors evoking childhood treats.  Try Cookie Monster, Chocolate Blackout and Strawberry Shortcake.

Chitterchats Ice Cream Parlor & Chitterchats Second Scoop – With locations in downtown Kilmarnock and Reedville, you can’t go wrong with their marvelous ice cream, homemade unique flavors and the perfect spots to people watch! Try almond amaretto, lemon custard, and salted caramel.

Stevie’s Ice CreamCraving soft-serve ice cream? Check out the local’s favorite for a cone, cup milkshake or “Bay Blast”!  They even have pup cups for your furry friends.  Freshly made waffle cones.

 

 

 

MIDDLE PENINSULA- Mathews, Urbanna, Gloucester

Short Lane Ice Cream Company – A beloved local spot in Gloucester offers a nostalgic, old-fashioned ice cream parlor experience with a commitment to quality and variety. Try black raspberry, lemon, ginger cream or avocado with chocolate chips!

Something Different – A local’s favorite in Urbanna! Drawing on local ingredients and creative flavors to deliver a truly delightful dessert experience. Their homemade super-premium ice cream is crafted from South Mountain Creamery dairy, ensuring high-quality and rich flavors. “Something different” are the “adult” flavors that contain alcohol.

Richardson’s Cafe – This cafe in Mathews offers a nostalgic 50’s style soda fountain experience where you can indulge in hand-dipped ice cream cones, sundaes, old-fashioned sodas, malts, banana splits, and hand-spun shakes.
